Class Details

Caribou Baby and Lactation Wellness will be offering a Breastfeeding Support Group on Fridays from 10:30-11:30am (this group will be held on the Fridays that La Leche League is not occuring). Babies of all ages are welcome!

The support group will be led by Patricia McGuire IBCLC, (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). In a relaxed setting, Patricia will be offering hands on support and accurate information on breastfeeding and related topics.

Before nursing, babies can be weighed on a digital scale to help access how much milk the baby is receiving from the breast. Moms will have some one on one time to address individual needs as well as opportunities to meet and socialize with other moms.

About the Instructor

Patricia McGuire is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). She has been assisting mothers and babies since 2003. Along with her private practice, Patricia works on the maternity floor at Beth Israel Hospital and teaches breastfeeding and newborn care classes at The Breastfeeding Center of Manhattan. She is currently studying public heath and media at CUNY.
